As part of a series on diabetes care, we’ve posted a new page covering diabetes and potential kidney disease.  Kidneys problems can arise with diabetes and like all of the potential secondary problems that arise with diabetes the first basic caution is to be vigilant in monitoring your blood glucose levels and : Keep your blood glucose as close to normal as you can.

Kidneys problems don’t necessarily show symptoms in the early stages, and we’ve suggested regular check-ups of blood and urine as part of a strategy for keeping up good general health alongside diabetes.

You can get more information on regular testing, what happens if your kidneys do begin to fail and treatments that are available.

Hope the information in this page will be valuable to you in your management of good health with diabetes.

Far Infrared radiation Therapy

The use of heat and heat pads as a therapy in the treatment of pain has been popular in many cultures for perhaps thousands of years.

An internet search on “heat pad therapy” produces many references to pages selling pads that you can heat up an place on a painful back, shoulder or limb, to help relieve the pain. There is another form of healing heat pad therapy that is, as yet, less well know in the modern ‘west’. That is Far Infrared Radiation (FIR).

Statistics suggest that some 50 million Americans suffer with chronic pain; and there are no doubt just as many who experience occasional muscle strain or stress-related tension. Far infrared radiation therapy offers a great benefit to this massive proportion of the US population, and people everywhere who suffer with chronic and acute pain. Many chronic pain suffers will be glad to have an alternative to many sleepless nights and reliance upon prescription drugs.
